Music on the Green Family Concert, Where the Wild Things Are: A Musical Rumpus

June 11 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The Night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind and another, his mother called him “WILD THING!” Join flutist Caroline Sonett-Assor and clarinetist Dylan James for an outdoor family concert on the lawn of the Rye Free Reading Room. The duo will read Where the Wild Things Are, bringing the story to life with pieces of classical music by Jolivet, Arnold, Dorff, Villa-Lobos, and more. Bring your little Wild Thing(s), and some picnic supper, and we’ll gnash our terrible teeth and roar our terrible roars.

Duo partners Dylan James, clarinet, and Caroline Sonett-Assor, flute, are performing musicians, educators, and administrators in the NYC Metropolitan Area. Dylan and Caroline met while both working at the Mannes School of Music, and work together both musically and administratively. Dylan currently serves as the Senior Manager of Music Programs at The New School’s College of Performing Arts, and Caroline is the Associate Director and Flute/Chamber Music Faculty at Mannes Prep.
Don’t forget to bring a blanket or a lawn chair!
If it rains, this concert will be rescheduled to June 12.
