Dr. Vaishali Bansilal is a local mom and pediatrician, who recently joined the staff at Riverside Pediatrics. She relocated to Westchester over the summer to be close to family and lives with her husband Suchit, 6year old boy Shivank and 3 year old daughter, Shireen. Born and raised in India, Dr. Bansilal received her residency and fellowship training in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology at Brooklyn hospital center and SUNY Downstate in New York, respectively. After completion of her training, she worked as a primary care doctor in Waterbury CT serving the underprivileged pediatric population and then again in a private practice -Tribeca Pediatrics – in Jersey City. While she enjoyed her work there, she has finally found her forever home close to family in Ryebrook. Dr Bansilal is very excited to be a part of Riverside Pediatrics and get to know and serve the local community.
Dr Bansilal says,
“Being a mother myself, I know parenting is tough. No matter how prepared you are, it’s a journey like no other, always full of surprises. Getting trustworthy and good medical advice always helps since there are so many resources online and in real life that could be conflicting with your ideas of what is right or wrong as a parent. I learned a lot during my medical training, but my children have taught me so much too. Whether it is about feeding, behaviors or just about anything practical-real experiences with them have always helped me empathize and practice evidence based medicine with a heart.
My children and I love to bake and cook together, interestingly it has taught patience and teamwork. We love to tire ourselves swimming and exercising but we are also a musical family, my husband plays the guitar, Shivank, my son plays the piano, I sing and Shireen dances!
I am looking forward to being a part of this wonderful community. Riverside Pediatrics has given me the privilege to get to know the kids in the community and their families while I take care of their health and see them grow beautifully.”
