ONS is proud to announce that five of our physicians have been named among the New York Magazine 2017 Top Doctors, as published in the June issue. Foot and ankle specialist Michael Clain, MD, and Shoulder, Elbow and Knee specialist Paul Sethi, MD, were listed among the top orthopedic surgeons in the New York Metropolitan area. Neurosurgeons Amory Fiore, MD, and Scott Simon, MD, came out on top in their specialty and Physiatrist Jeffrey Heftler, MD, is top ranked in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
New York Magazine’s annual list of Top Doctors in the New York Metropolitan area is compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., an independent national medical rating agency. According to the company’s website, “the intensive research methodology is designed to identify doctors that will speed patients’ healing, minimize pain and discomfort, shorten recovery periods and enhance and lengthen lives – in other words, achieve the best possible health outcomes.” The Top Doctors are nominated by their peers in an extensive survey process of thousands of American doctors each year. Medical education and training, hospital appointments, current board certifications and disciplinary histories, and other criteria are carefully screened by the Castle Connolly physician-led research team. After the review of credentials, nominated physicians may be chosen to be listed as a regionally outstanding and/or a nationally outstanding Castle Connolly Top Doctor.
Drs. Clain, Fiore, Heftler, Sethi and Simon were honored earlier this year, along with nine other ONS specialists – Paul Apostolides, MD, Mark Camel, MD, James Cunningham, MD, Frank Ennis, MD, Steven Hindman, MD, Brian Kavanagh, MD, David Nocek, MD, Seth Miller, MD and Katharine Vadasdi, MD, as 2017 Americas Top Doctors and the 2017 Top Doctors in Fairfield County.
