RYE, NY—There are a multitude of ways to celebrate fall, whether your idea of fall fun is apple picking, Halloween haunts, admiring wool or observing heritage days. Here are a few suggestions, with links so you can figure out the details. Many of these events sell out fast so you may want to check into tickets today:
Westchester
Croton-on-Hudson
The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, at Van Cortlandt Manor offers visitors a chance to explore an 18th-century manor and discover a breathtaking display of more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns—all designed and hand-carved on site. The event runs through November, but it gets sold out quickly.
Pocantico Hills

Harvest Fest at Stone Barns on Oct. 6 celebration features hayrides, cooking, activities, and a farmer’s market. The event is a fundraiser.
Katonah
The Pumpkin Picking Autumn Celebration takes place on Oct. 6 and 7 at Muscoot Farm. Pick a pumpkin, glitter a pumpkin, enjoy music, and take a hayride.
Pound Ridge
The Pound Ridge Harvest Festival on Oct. 13 features live music, an assortment of games, activities and rides, plus a root beer garden. Free admission.
Somers
Lasdon Park and Arboretum has a Halloween Train Show and Fall Festival on weekends (and Columbus Day) through Oct. 28. Visitors can enjoy a model train display in the decorated main house, stroll through the Conservatory, meet Louie the T-Rex, enjoy Halloween Crazy Maze entertainment, music, face painting, beer tasting, meals and snacks.
Sleepy Hollow
There’s something for everyone during Sleepy Holloween, including haunted hayrides, Gothic mansions, blazing pumpkins, farmer’s markets, live music, parades and the Headless Horseman. See the big calendar of events for more information.

Garrison
A Heritage Applefest will take place on Oct. 6 on the scenic grounds of Boscobel House and Gardens. Celebrate the apple with cider-pressing, cider sampling, live music, vendors, and family
activities. Admission is a donation.
Rockland

Pearl River
Pearl River Day offers live music and entertainment,food and craft vendors, pumpkin painting, face painting, and inflatables on Oct. 6.
West Nyack
Heritage of West Nyack Fall Festival on Oct. 21 celebrates the history of West Nyack ,with living-history demos as well as hayrides, pumpkin fun, country dancing, pen turning, sheep shearing, and music.
Dutchess County
Beacon
The Beacon Sloop Club’s Annual Pumpkin Festival takes place at Riverfront Park, rain or shine on Oct. 16. Hudson Valley pumpkins of all sizes and shapes, freshly baked pumpkin pie, cider and other food will be available for purchase. Save room for meat or vegetarian chili. During the festival volunteer crews will organize free public sailing aboard the ferry sloop Woody Guthrie.
Rhinebeck
The New York State Sheep and Wool Festival takes place on Oct. 20 and 21. The festival features workshops for adults and kids, children’s activities, a petting zoo, sheep-shearing demonstrations, canine Frisbee demos, and a leaping-llama contest.

Olivebridge
Fall Family Fun Fest at Ashokan Center features apple cidering, nature hikes, hayrides, face painting, pumpkin painting, black-smithing, broom making, live music with Jay Ungar and Molly Masonand friends, food, crafts and more.
