Westchester Bakeries You Have To Try For Valentine’s Day | Rye & Rye Brook Moms

Head to these dessert maestros to guarantee some cupid lovin’.

Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart, or treating yourself, these lovable holiday-themed desserts will make you wonder why they aren’t available year-round.

Lulu Cake Boutique, Scarsdale

Valentine’s Day Personal Cakes (shown above)
These small cakes are about four and a half inches wide and five inches tall. They serve two people (or if you want to eat a whole one yourself, we won’t tell). Cakes like these are sold throughout the year; however for the holiday, they get decorated beautifully in hearts, flowers, and colored in all pink, red and white.
“We just wanted to do something a little different,” said Jay Muse, Co-Owner and Senior Cake Designer on his creative cake outlook.
If you don’t want a personal cake, try something from their seasonal menu. There are single cupcakes with similar designs as the cakes. The bakery also makes cupcakes with a large version of candy hearts that say messages like, “Text Me” on it. You can also try and pink and white heart-shaped cookies (a Valentine’s Day take on the classic “black and white” cookie).
The bakery was opened on Valentine’s Day seventeen years ago, so come celebrate with them this year!

Flour & Sun Bakery, Pleasantville

Pun Cookies
This bakery, founded in 2009, creates quirky decorated cookies for Valentine’s Day. Some cookies are designed to be in the shape of a beehive with the saying, “Honey, bee mine.” Another pizza-shaped cookie says, “You’ve got a pizza my heart.”
“They are made from scratch and hand decorated by me and my other baker Sam Ingersoll,” says owner Cait Dwyer. “Our cookies taste really yummy as well as are really gorgeous!”
If you’re not in the mood for puns, heart-shaped French macarons are also available. They are crispy and chewy cookie shells made with almond flour. They fill them with the creamy vanilla buttercream that’s made from scratch.

Red Barn Bakery, Irvington

Heart-Shaped Everything
This artisan bakery goes all out for Valentine’s Day — their 100% organic, locally sourced, sustainable treats get transformed into hearts.
Perhaps their most romantic dish is the cream puff for two. This puff is transformed from a rounded pastry to a heart, filled with organic dairy cream from grass-fed cows and fresh strawberries, sprinkled with powdered sugar in each layer.
If you want something more chocolatey, try their flourless chocolate cake (in the shape of a heart, of course), or their cheesecake decorated with dark chocolate hearts.
Red Barn Bakery also has vegan and gluten-free cupcake, decorated with either a chocolate heart or the word, “love.” You can also try their heart-shared French macarons.

Chantilly Patisserie, Bronxville

Small, Simple and Romantic Sweets
Good things come in small packages. Open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, this French pastry and cake shop will be selling a variety of delicious treats, tiny in stature yet jam-packed with flavor.
Among them are French macarons dipped in chocolate as well as long stem strawberries, and colorful meringues (which are gluten free).
Everything hand-made in house as well as created with passion by Chef Mariana Gambini and her staff. Flourless options are available.

By The Way Bakery, Hastings-on-Hudson

Emoji Cookie
Nothing expresses emotions in the modern day more than the emoji. This gluten-free, dairy-free, and certified kosher bakery knows how to bring cute and silly charm to the holiday.
The bakery is making “Emoji Throwing a Kiss” cakes and cupcakes. They introduced emoji-themed products in 2015, the same year that the Oxford English Dictionary selected the “Tears of Joy” emoji as their Word of the Year.
They are also bringing back their heart-shaped sugar cookies, which are sold in graduated sizes in a bag of three. “We think it’s a great way to say, ‘Be Mine,’” says founder and CEO of By The Way, Helene Godin.
Finally, new to their menu this year is a glazed mini flour-less chocolate cake with a fondant heart. While most of their products are offered in kraft-paper boxes, this chocolaty treat is lovingly packaged in a clear box and tied with red raffia.
