“The Westchester Children’s Museum offers an outlet for play, communication, sharing and cooperation, and just an overall feeling of being welcome, all critical to the emotional health and wellness of our children, says Carolyn Carr Spencer, President of the WCM Board of Directors and a mom of four. “Given the last year we have all had of remote learning and social distancing, our children need the Westchester Children’s Museum more than ever.”
The Museum completed a $1.2 million expansion and renovation in mid 2020 that brought the Museum’s space to over 20,000 square feet. The expanded space was completed just before the pandemic forced the museum to close and will finally be available to the public when the museum reopens.
The Museum is CDC compliant and has made changes to its systems and exhibits to keep visitors and staff safe and healthy. The Museum will close for one hour to be cleaned and reset between sessions. Visitors may purchase memberships to the Museum in advance that include the cost of parking in the lot the Museum shares with Playland Amusement Park.
